About Jatin Mehta

Welcome to the Blogger site of Jatin Mehta, where you will be able to find posts exploring all aspects of the diamond industry from an experienced leading expert. Jatin Mehta first began to develop his passion for all things diamond-related at a young age as his family have been a part of the industry since the 1960s. After attending Hill Grange High School in Mumbai, Mehta continued his studies at the Hassaram Rijhumal College of Commerce and Economics, also in Mumbai, where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce certificate. This preparation combined with an innate knowledge of the trade, naturally led Mehta to a career in the diamond industry.

Jatin Mehta’s career began in earnest in 1985 when he was able to establish India’s first public diamond trading company, Su-Raj Diamonds (India) Limited. Mehta would remain at the helm of Su-Raj for many years, taking the business from strength to strength and steering the company in an award-winning direction. Su-Raj Diamonds, later known as Winsome Diamonds and Jewellery Limited, received many industry accolades during the period from 1985 until 2011, when Mehta was positioned as chairman and managing director. These achievements include the Diamontaire of the Year award, numerous certificates of merit and outstanding export performance and recognition for becoming the largest exporter of cut and polished diamonds in India.

After resigning from Su-Raj in 2011 in pursuit of new opportunities, Jatin Mehta soon discovered the advantageous chance to incorporate Pride Jewellery FZE, based in the United Arab Emirates. Pride works with the trade of diamond, gold and precious gem-based jewellery within the UAE, alongside business consultancy services specific to the diamond trade sector.

A very busy professional, on the occasion where Mehta does find some free time he enjoys watching and playing various sports including cricket, tennis and horse riding. He also loves to travel and has explored many areas of the globe. He enjoys good food and exploring new vegetarian dishes from around the world, with Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese flavours being particular favourites.
